Beginning of the Year FYI

Water Bottles
It’s hot!  While students are expected to be in their appropriate uniform all day, every day, it can get a little toasty.  This is especially true when students are running outside at recess.  Please feel free to send your child to school with a water bottle to have in class.  It is preferred students have a water bottle that has a straw or some type of smaller opening in order to prevent spills as much as possible.

Snack
Students are given time to have a snack in both of their afternoon classes.  Snacks are not provided by the school or teachers.  Please send your child to school with a snack each day.

Uniforms
Students are to wear their formal uniform each day they do not have gym, including a beltOn gym days, students may wear their Capital Prep gym uniform and sneakers all day.  Students are not required to change in and out of gym uniforms until grade 3.
GRADE 1: gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays
GRADE 2: gym on Mondays and Wednesdays

Homework

Homework is graded based on completion.  A grade is given to students for each homework menu under the standard “Completes required tasks outside of class.”  Therefore, students are to complete all required assignments in a homework menu for a grade of 3.  If students would like to earn a 4, they may complete pages that are labeled as “Challenge” or they may complete any of the activities on the homework menu options.
